As an internet merchant, you must display the following:
- Your contact information, phone number and email address
- Your company's details, registration name and place, registered office address, and registered number
- A refund policy
- The logos of the cards you accept
This is all needed in order to comply with various Department for Trade and Industry regulations and card scheme rules. We've also found that it reassures customers to see this information clearly displayed.
Choosing Worldpay Online Payments involves integrating our API with your website or app. Our API is the same no matter what kind of payment services you want to use - a single integration meaning you save on both time and complexity. This means that you can control the look and feel of your payment pages no matter how your customer pays, improving the customer experience and boosting sales. At the same time, it enables you to comply with strict credit-card industry rules about how sensitive card data must be handled.
So how does it work? Traditionally customers making online payments have had to enter key information (for example their address) via the merchant's website before then completing their order on a hosted payment page. By adding another stage to the order process, and perhaps an unfamiliar logo and URL, customers can be stalled and sometimes put off completing their purchase.
With Worldpay's API, our secure payments service is in effect embedded in your checkout pages. The customer can then place an order and enter their card or payment details at your checkout. The API sends these details to Worldpay and we process the transaction, invisibly and at lightning speed, conducting fraud checks and creating an anonymised "token" that you can use to accept a payment without sensitive data ever hitting your servers. This in turn helps ensure you meet your security and compliance obligations.
Existing customers tell us that choosing an API has revolutionised the way they do business online. Why not join them?
