Selects the PED instance from the dropdown provided. After selecting a PED from the list you can set its properties. Multiple instances are configured and their property can be set using this option.

The instance to be used with Hospitality can be selected from the drop down list. A new instance can be created with the Add New button.

By default Hospitality uses the required property files from the properties folder. For other Instances it uses the properties folder in the INSTANCE_XX folder in the directory specified here.

If multiple instances are configured, run the Emboss-setup.bat file as well to enter Merchant ID and Terminal IDs for each instance.

Instance Properties

If the TerminalInitializer.log reaches to 1MB then it is renamed automatically as TerminalInitializer.log.1 and the file prior to that as TerminalInitializer.log.2 and so on. • Define preset Gratuity Options: This option is available only when Ask Gratuity is selected and adds a facility to prompt the cardholder for preconfigured gratuity percentage options, in addition to allowing them to enter a percentage of their choice. When this option is selected up to three preset gratuity percentages may be specified as follows

    • Only whole numbers are accepted.

    • Percentage value cannot be more than 99%. (1 to 99)

    • At least one of the preset percentages should be populated.

    • Percentage values cannot be repeated in any of the entries, for example two entries cannot have value 5%.

    • % values should be in ascending order.

  • Disable Pennies for Contactless Txn: This option helps to disable donation prompt with contactless transactions and prompt donation with chip and pin transaction after card insertion. This functionality works irrespective of donation enabled at Merchant level during the time of boarding. It is configurable at instance level.
