Detailed Terminal Configuration

The IPC application supports a number of EMV level-2 PEDs, terminals instances, and configuration options.

Common YesEFT Configurations

Common

  • Classpath: This configuration parameter indicates the fully qualified name of the “yespay-cps.jar” to be used by YESEFT and must not be changed.

  • Base Directory: The base directory should point to installation directory e.g. “C:\YESEFT”

  • Environment: Select the appropriate environment as per the requirement.

If POS (Retail) is selected then IPC supports all type of transactions including Sale, Refund, CNP, PWCB and Pre-Auth, Pre Sales Completion, Cancel.

Semi-Attended environment allows only Sale transaction with Contactless and Chip & Pin card.

Note:

Petrol Station, Kiosk, Internet, Hospitality-Standalone, Hospitality and Standalone are not supported with this IPC version.

For United States: CNP, PWCB, Pre-Auth and Pre-Sales Completion are not yet supported

  • Always send transaction result: If enabled then IPC will always send the transaction result field in the response to the EPOS application. We recommend enabling this option.

  • Language: Used to select the preferred language for IPC. English, French, German and Dutch are currently supported.

  • Country: Used to configure IPC corresponding to the country or region. United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, United States,France, Germany and Netherlands are currently supported.

  • Auto Sensing COM port : In the event that IPC is unable to detect the PED on the configured COM port, this options allows IPC to attempt to detect the PED on any other valid COM port. If IPC finds a PED on another COM port, it will prompt via the GUI to allow connection via the new COM port, and change the configured com port accordingly. If PED is unable to connect to any of the COM ports, then IPC will not initialise and a pop-up message will be displayed on UI. If auto sensing option is switched OFF & PED is unable to connect to the pre-defined comport, then other ports will not be iterated for establishing connection and a pop-up message will be displayed on UI.

    a) Windows: Auto sensing option will be switched on by default.

      * PEDs supported : iPP350, Vx820 , Verifone P400 and M010

    b) Linux:

      * In case of Linux for Serial/ Symlink Port, autosensing flag will be switched ON by default. User will be able to switch OFF the flag if needed.

      * In case of USB - TTYA CM Port - Autosensing flag will always be switched ON & disabled (Greyed Out). User will not be able to switch OFF the flag if needed.

      * PEDs supported :  iPP350 , Verifone P400 and Vx820

Instance

Selects the instance for which properties are set. This is useful when configuring multiple instances of IPC. Generally in a POS environment only one instance is needed and you can keep the configuration on the default instance.

Common YesEFT Configuration - Select Instance

Select Instance

The instance to be used with IPC can be selected from the drop down list. A new instance can be created with the Add New button.

For the default instance, IPC uses the required property files from the properties folder. For other Instances it uses the properties folder in INSTANCE_XX folder residing in the directory specified here.

If multiple instances are configured, run the Emboss-setup.bat file as well to enter Merchant IDs and Terminal IDs for each instance.

Note: Multiple instances are not supported for Linux platform for USB & Symlink Ports. If configured, it may result in an unpredictable behaviour.
