Run IPS as a Windows service
IPS can run as a Windows service and this enables it to run automatically when your system boots.
You must have administrative privileges to install or uninstall IPS as Windows service.
To Install/Uninstall IPS as a Windows service
Do the following:
Unzip the IPS build.
Go to ipc3-app/service folder.
Run the installService.bat file with administrative privileges to install IPS windows service. Or, run the uninstallService.bat file with administrative privileges to uninstall IPS windows service.
Start/Stop IPS Windows service with Normal/Domain user
Before you start, make sure you have start/stop permission for the IPS windows service.
Assuming you do have permission, go to the ipc3-app/service folder and double click startService.bat to start IPS as a windows service.
To stop the IPS windows service, double click stopService.bat.
Start/Stop IPS Windows service with service account
You can use an existing service account which is in the domain. From this account, you need to grant permission to the service account to start/stop IPS windows service. to do this:
Right-click the Start button and select Run.
services.mscin the Run window, this opens windows services manager.
Now find the service with the name "IPS".
Right click on the IPC Application service select Properties.
From Properties, go to log-on tab and select the This account radio button.
Set the service account username.
Set the password and confirm the password.
Select the General tab.
Click Start and then click OK. The IPC3 status changes to Running.
