Generate an IPS Activation Code
You need this code to generate an IPS License Key.
The IPS License Key is a unique reference and is stored within IPS. You need the IPS key before you can use the various IPS functions. This IPS License Key is also required to generate the POS License Keys (single or multiple).
To generate a IPS Activation Code:
From the Home Page, click the IPS menu. The menu screen appears:
Click IPS Activation. A list appears of all the Emboss MIDs that you will generate activation codes for.
- Enter the IPS Reference. This must be an alphanumeric string between nine and 15 characters long. For example, BS01F1 could stand for the IPS server in the Bond Street store, on floor 1.
- Click Submit to request the IPS ID and IPS Activation code.
The screen displays the Emboss MIDs, the IPS ID, the IPS Reference, and IPS Activation code. It should look like the screen below:
These various codes and IDs are:
Emboss MID - The identifier for the merchant record, generated in our system
IPS Reference - A reference to this instance of IPS, that is entered by the merchant or integrator. Enter a reference that identifies the IPS server and its location.
IPS ID - The identifier for this instance of IPS, generated in our system
IPS Activation Code - A one-time passcode that is used for registration purposes only
There is also a Status indicator this defines the status of the activation code. If it is INACTIVE, means it has already been used.
Make a note of these various code values, then go back to
View the IPS licenses
